Mentoring

NEED A MENTOR FOR ASL SKILLS OR NIC CERTIFICATION?

WHO: Open to any recent graduates of ITPs, Educational and Community Interpreters

WHERE: 217 WISCONSIN AVE SUITE 100 WAUKESHA WI, 53186

DISTANCE LEARNING: THROUGH SKYPE, WEB CHAT, VIDEOPHONES or ONLINE TV

WHEN: Any time; MUST commit to a 1-hour long weekly session of 6, 8, or 10 weeks packages

DAYS AND TIMES: Scheduled around the mentee’s needs

COST: $25, Recent Graduates: $30, Educational Interpreters: $40. Certified Interpreters

Students will come to sessions with their own personal goals, in which they would like to accomplish before ending the mentoring session.

Dr. Garay is currently an Educational Psychologist, and teaches Psychology and Sign Language courses at Waukesha County Technical College. She also works with several private-sector programs related to sign language, mentoring, diversity and special education. She has taught distance education courses and workshops in ASL linguistics, special education, and disability issues throughout the Midwest and at the national level. Dr. Garay is also a national certified Sign Language Instructor, Certified Deaf Mentor, and enjoys working with families and very young children.
